LEED Exam: Introduction

The LEED NC 2.2 Exam comprise of 80 multiple-choice questions with a time frame of 2 hours. It is scored on a scale from 125-200, with 170 as the passing score. The score is available immediately after the exam, and you can retake the exam immediately without a waiting period if you failed.

There are six components to the LEED Green Building Rating System:

Sustainable Sites: 14 points
Water Efficiency: 5 points
Energy and Atmosphere: 17 points
Materials and Resources: 13 points
Indoor Environmental Quality: 15 points
Innovation & Design Process: 5 points

It is advisable to read through all sections of the Reference Guide twice when you are studying for the exam. If you are really pressed for time, I would advise that you should make sure you know understand all the requirements for Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, and Indoor Environmental Quality.

Do you have to repay the LEED test fee if you fail the first time and immediately retake it?

Yes, you would have to pay for the exam even if you take it the next day after your failed exam.
